Ahwatukee fireworks show a go as fund hits $25,000
A last-minute fundraising push, assisted by Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio, brought in the last $5,000 the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce needed to schedule the $25,000 show at the Ahwatukee Country Club.

Plan to renovate Biltmore gets thumbs-up
After months of infighting among neighbors, an advisory panel this week overwhelmingly approved a plan to expand and renovate the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix.
The Camelback East Village Planning Committee voted 15-1 this week to recommend supporting the $300 million project. The rezoning, which allows for up to 300 new hotel rooms, 44 villas and a 26,000-square-foot spa, still needs approval from the Planning Commission and City Council before construction can begin.

Plan Aims to Revitalize Old Stretch of Camelback Cooridor
Home to residential and office towers and a posh outdoor mall, the intersection at 24th Street and Camelback Road is one of the Valley's most prestigious locales for living, working and shopping.
Now, one Phoenix councilman wants to re-create the look and feel of the Biltmore intersection along an older, declining stretch of Camelback Corridor.
